A chapter in Gustav von Schmoller and Adolph Wagner, 2018, pp 41-47 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The first part of this article briefly describes how Schmoller’s work has been translated and received in China as compared to the work of several other outstanding German economists. Based on his findings, the author points out that overall, Chinese scholars fall behind in the research on Schmoller, and analyzes the reasons for it. In the following part, the author explains the underlying factors of this unfavorable situation, especially the lack of professionals for translation and research. At last, it is stated in the article that Chinese academia is creating an environment favorable for the research on Schmoller, despite those disadvantages. Combining the latest achievements in social science in China, the author observes the enormous potential for the Schmoller research in China.
