A chapter in Eurasian Business Perspectives, 2020, pp 115-128 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Literature studies confirm that family-owned enterprises do pay attention to their stakeholders. This chapter explores the phenomenon of project risk culture in micro- and small businesses, which are owned by families. Special attention has been directed to the relationship between project risk culture and business characteristics. Project risk culture has been viewed from the perspective of these firms’ approach toward their external stakeholders. Binary logistic regression was used to study this phenomenon. The results of this study indicate that family involvement is an important factor influencing project risk culture in the studied entities. The findings of the research emphasize the role of family members’ involvement in business in building project risk culture. They also support the current discussion on family involvement in shaping economic and social behaviors of the studied businesses.
