Abstract: Abstract In the modern global financial market investment safety is extremely significant. Therefore, the article focuses on trust in the financial market of average citizens which is a crucial element for saving and investing money. This is the first stage for further implementation of other criteria during the decision making process such as CSR. The aim of the elaboration is to draw attention to selected aspects of the problem of activating individual investors as exemplified by Poland, which can be viewed as an important market concerning the number of citizens, the size of the market and the European Union membership. In the article, description, comparison and questionnaire methods were used. The theory aspect was complemented with selected survey results on a representative sample of Polish citizens. The survey was conducted on the basis of the author’s project and requested by an agency specializing in research of this type on a representative sample of the Polish society in 2014.
