Abstract Schmidt introduces the relationship between technology and sports in the digital age taking time to outline improvements to athletic performance, sport consumption, sports management, and governance. He also describes how technology drives the development of new sports and enhancement of traditional sport. Finally, he outlines the process by which technologies were selected for 21st Century sports: How technologies will change sports in the digital age as well as the structure and chapters of the book.
