A chapter in Digitalization in Healthcare, 2021, pp 163-170 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Digitalization is fundamentally changing healthcare. The ethical challenges of digitalization in the healthcare system are therefore all the more urgent. On the one hand, technical potentials help to alleviate illnesses, and on the other hand they trigger fears and insecurities in patients. The balance between opportunities for the improvement of curing diseases and the challenges of abandoning individual privacy with digital applications must be weighed up between the stakeholders in the healthcare system. This requires digital ethics for the healthcare system and a profound understanding of digital algorithms.
