Chapter Chapter 17 in Leading With Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, 2022, pp 283-295 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Leadership in higher education institutions faces several challenges. To meet these challenges, management practices must address diversity among academic workforces. Middle managers in higher education can foster an inclusive workplace by adopting inclusive leadership in their daily management philosophy, ensuring effective operations, and boosting positive work-related outcomes among staff members. This chapter’s proposed model highlights the effects of inclusive leadership, including the encouragement of management-level innovation in academic units and establishment of a climate for creativity. Furthermore, this chapter proposes a proactive diversity strategy as a boundary condition, fortifying the relationship between inclusive leadership and innovation and creativity outcomes.
