Chapter 5 in Financial Innovations and Monetary Reform, 2023, pp 77-115 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract We have seen what money is and what markets are. Now we need to know how they combine to form a system. The system is defined by the relationships by which citizens and governments or their central banks organize the monetary compensation of their exchanges. They do this with the help of a unified measurement tool that aims to regulate the acceptance of money as a means of payment and the exchange ratio of the currency.
