Chapter 6 in Visionary Leadership, 2024, pp 161-186 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter explores the rapidly evolving realm of emerging organizations and entrepreneurial teams. It delves into the unique challenges faced by founding teams aiming to launch a successful business within a constrained timeframe while simultaneously securing funding, developing a minimum viable product (MVP), and pinpointing the ideal product-market fit. This chapter provides insights into the ever-changing entrepreneurial landscape and the distinct factors that impact the emergence and validation of new ventures. It examines how entrepreneurial teams engage in visionary experimentation to reduce risks and bolster their readiness for investment. Through compelling case examples of past and present unicorn startups, the chapter vividly portrays the process of organizational emergence, vision testing, and the achievement of new venture legitimacy. Furthermore, with the increasing prevalence of visionary leaders and founders within the business arena, particularly due to the burgeoning number of entrepreneurial enterprises, it is imperative to explore how teams within founder-led companies are actively testing and shaping visions, thereby reshaping the entrepreneurial landscape.
