Chapter 6 in Public Service Media Organizations and Society, 2026, pp 53-62 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract One important way media can promote their vision of society is through sports. The media plays an essential role in making sports accessible to the public by broadcasting and reporting on events, allowing fans to follow their favorite teams and athletes worldwide. Sports is a cultural, social, economic, and political phenomenon. The various sports are powerful social events that bring people together, in a fair and friendly competition, regardless of their backgrounds, creating a sense of unity and shared experience.
