Abstract:
Abstract Information and communication technology contribute to development in two ways (1) as an enabler for the delivery of public and commercial services and a core technological competency for transforming all sectors of the economy and (2) as an industry, a new source of growth and keystone sector of the knowledge economy, in its own right. Chapters 4 and 5 have addressed of the potential of applying this technological competency to transform business and promote innovation. This chapter focuses on the second contribution.
