Chapter Chapter 3 in Virtualization of Universities, 2012, pp 21-32 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The aim of this chapter is to explain the concept of societal function systems, especially focusing on three function systems with the highest relevance for universities: education, science, and (academic) mass media. This perspective may lead to a better understanding of the different rationales in the three functional domains and serves as a grid to observe the impact of digital media on these three function systems.
