Abstract:
Abstract This chapter will address the context of innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystems (EIE) as shown in Fig. 2.1, starting with the concepts, components, and their typologies, which will provide a basis for this proposal. Subsequently, the role of ecosystems in the world is addressed to identify what some countries are doing in the international context to build, strengthen, and enhance ecosystems. The past, present, and future of these ecosystems are also addressed, which will allow to identify their development and evolution over time. It also addresses the issue of innovation and entrepreneurship Ecosystem Operating Entities (EOE) whose leadership role allows integrating ecosystem activities and coordinating it in collaboration with the rest of the actors. The role of universities in ecosystems and the development propellers with which it interacts is also presented. Finally, the closing of this chapter is shown, where the success factors that some ecosystems have experienced are described.
