Abstract:
Abstract The success of Bacon’s program radically altered the human condition and its prospects. It shifted the ways we perceive and understand the world, dislodging humanity from its supposedly privileged place in the order of things. It led to the emergence of a paradoxical fractured global order that puts people all over the world in contact with each other, while simultaneously creating and maintaining deep fissures between them. At the twilight of Bacon’s epoch, we are in a new setting for the pursuit of human endeavors.
