Abstract There has probably never been a better time, in recent years, for the city of Milan. In a country that has just started to leave behind the consequences of the 2008–2013 economic recession, the city has been successfully carving out for itself a leading role in Italy as the guiding light in a quest for a social and entrepreneurial renaissance.
