Abstract:
Abstract In West Bengal, where marketing reforms are yet to be formally legislated, there are signs of changes. This chapter studies a case which is only marginally differentiated from conventional contracting practices, gives space to new unorganized traders to step in and provides additional options to farmers, but efficiency gain is questionable.
