Chapter 10 in Manufacturing Exports from Indian States, 2016, pp 177-183 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Policy discussions on exports in emerging economies like India have been largely looking through the prism of national exports, rather than sub-national origin of such exports. The chapter summarizes the main implications of the book and concludes that regional public policies that encourage and assist local firms in internationalization can also critically contribute in achieving higher and diversified export growth. Apart from identifying key determinants of regional firm level exports, it suggests that a relevant and disaggregated subnational export database need to be developed.
