Abstract: Abstract What is the human welfare lossWelfare loss due to arsenic contamination of groundwater? Can this loss be quantified? How much is an individual as well as a family from the affected region willing to payWilling to pay to save themselves? To understand the real price paid by those affected due to the arsenic contamination of groundwater we adhered to analysis of data collected during field surveys using econometricEconometric model. Through this endeavour, we intended to ascertain that the burdenBurden of the disease is much more than health effects only and has severe socioeconomic implications.
