A chapter in Indian Agriculture Towards 2030, 2022, pp 297-311 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This book began with a short description of the challenges facing global and Indian agriculture, and highlighted India’s commitments to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and climate change. This chapter presents the pathways for transforming the Indian agri-food system. Before doing so, it briefly dwells upon the demand and supply responses of the Indian agri-food system, with a focus on how the consumption patterns and production portfolio of major food commodities are changing, and what the key enablers and hurdles in the transformation of the agri-food system are.
