Chapter Chapter 17 in Building Supply Chain Excellence in Emerging Economies, 2007, pp 407-425 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In an environment of changing customer expectations and evolving distribution infrastructure, firms can develop new business models that generate rapid growth. In this article, we examine the organic growth of a Czech office supply firm, Papirius. By introducing express delivery with service guarantees, Papirius was able to quickly grow and solidify its based. However, to defend its market against expanding multinationals, firms like Papiris must exploit their unique customer knowledge while driving efficiencies to world-class levels.
