Chapter Chapter 14 in Handbook Of Operations Research In Natural Resources, 2007, pp 273-294 from Springer
Abstract:
The measurement and analysis of efficiency and capacity utilisation in fisheries has seen increased attention over the last decade. Two key approaches are available to estimate these measures – stochastic production frontiers and data envelopment analysis (DEA). In this chapter, the methods are outlined, and examples of their use in fisheries are presented. Issues relating to the application of both techniques in fisheries are outlined.
