Chapter Chapter 2 in Manufacturing and Service Enterprise with Risks, 2009, pp 11-18 from Springer

Abstract: F. W. Taylor, the father of scientific management, said in 1903 that management is an art [22]. By “an art” he meant the scientific law/technique (enterprise/factory) and the applicative “waza.” Following that, this definition was further developed by Koontz and O’Donnell [9] and others.
