Chapter Chapter 1 in Integration of Information and Optimization Models for Routing in City Logistics, 2012, pp 1-5 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Logistics service providers are nowadays expected to offer reliable and reasonably priced delivery services. The complexity of underlying supply chains and increasing customer requirements demand for modern planning systems producing cost efficient and customer friendly delivery tours. To efficiently employ human and technical resources, such planning systems feature automated processing of orders while considering data about customer locations as well as typical distances or travel times.
