Data Stewardship: Can We Use the Data?

Rahul Saxena () and Anand Srinivasan ()

Chapter Chapter 8 in Business Analytics, 2013, pp 101-112 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Before you consume data for analyses, first assess it. Data sets may contain problems that can make the analysis incorrect and the recommendations misleading. This generally happens the first time the data is used for analysis, and also periodically and randomly disrupts ongoing analyses on pre-established data flows when something changes upstream or in the analytics infrastructure. The price of good data is eternal vigilance.
