Chapter Chapter 14 in Health Care Benchmarking and Performance Evaluation, 2014, pp 219-238 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract In earlier chapters, models of performance evaluation for major health care providers were presented. These included hospitals, physician offices, nursing homes, health maintenance organizations, and home health care. There are many other health care providers that serve patient needs, sometimes in conjunction with major providers and sometimes independently. The literature shows that a variety of performance models were developed for providers such as dialysis centers, community mental health centers, community-based youth services, organ procurement organizations, aging agencies, dental providers, pharmacies, ophthalmology centers, diagnostic and screening centers, and so on (Hollingsworth 2003, 2008). In this chapter, performance models for selected health service providers are presented.
