Chapter Chapter 4 in Normalization of Multidimensional Data for Multi-Criteria Decision Making Problems, 2023, pp 71-94 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter introduces the basic linear methods of multivariate normalization and defines some important invariant properties of linear normalization methods—disposition invariance of natural and normalized values, rating invariance for isotropic data scaling, re-normalization invariance, and skewness invariance. A meaningful interpretation of linear normalized scales is given. Using the invariant properties of linear normalization methods often eliminates simple problems and avoids obvious errors when solving MCDM problems.
