Abstract: Abstract A review of modern methods for inverting attribute values that have opposite goals in problems of multi-criteria decision-making and multidimensional classification is presented. A detailed description of the problems of attribute value inversion is given. A universal method for inverting normalized values based on the Reverse Sorting Algorithm (ReS-algorithm) is presented. The ReS-algorithm preserves the dispositions of natural and normalized values of the attributes of alternatives and eliminates the shift in the area of normalized values. The ReS-algorithm demonstrates the lack of influence of the inverse transformation on the ranking of alternatives compared to existing inversion methods.
