Chapter Chapter 10 in Facility Location Under Uncertainty, 2024, pp 255-291 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter focuses on integrating location and routing decisions. These are the problems that have been extensively studied in deterministic settings. In practice, several sources of uncertainty emerge, which include demands, travel times, and infrastructure operationality. These can be accounted for in different ways. Several families of problems are considered. As far as location routing is concerned, cost- and time-oriented objectives and reliability problems are discussed. Uncertainty in location-arc routing is also mentioned, although this is still much unexplored in the literature. Finally, some recent trends and developments in the field are reviewed.
