Abstract:
Abstract This chapter explores the potential of Metaverse environments, underpinned by Web 3.0 ecosystems and Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) mechanisms, to enhance supply chain resilience. The study examines the evolution of the metaverse concept, the emergence of Web 3.0, and the characteristic features of DAO mechanisms. It proposes a novel conceptualization of a decentralized Metaverse predicated on supply chain resilience within the Web 3.0 ecosystem, with DAO mechanisms at its core. The chapter presents case studies from Japan to illustrate the practical applications and potential benefits of this approach. These examples demonstrate how Metaverse initiatives, blockchain technology, and Web 3.0 principles can be leveraged to improve supply chain management, enhance data security, and foster innovation.
