Chapter 10 in Multi-Criteria Decision Making with Partial Preference Information, 2026, pp 179-197 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This chapter presents the FITradeoff for Choice Problematic. It describes in detail how the FITradeoff method deals with choice MCDM/A problems and the particularities of the method for this decision problematic. With the aim of finding a final solution alternative for the problem, the FITradeoff for choice problematic works based on a progressive reduction of the subset of Potentially Optimal Alternatives (POAs). In this chapter, the concept of Potentially Optimal Alternatives (POAs) is presented and illustrated, then the mathematical model to find POAs is described in detail. The Holistic Evaluation for the choice problematic also has some particular issues that are explained in this chapter. Finally, the way in which a Sensitivity Analysis (SA) can be carried out for this problematic is explained. The whole process of FITradeoff for choice is then summarized, considering an overall view of the decision process in the FITradeoff DSS.
