Chapter 11 in Multi-Criteria Decision Making with Partial Preference Information, 2026, pp 199-215 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This chapter aims to present the FITradeoff for Ranking Problematic. It gives a detailed description of how the FITradeoff method deals with multi-criteria ranking problems and the particularities of the method for this decision problematic. In ranking problems, the goal is to achieve a complete order of the decision alternatives. To do so, the FITradeoff for ranking problematic works searching for pairwise dominance relations between alternatives within the available space of weights, for which linear programing models are applied. In this chapter, the mechanism for finding dominance relations between alternatives is described, followed by the procedure to build a ranking of alternatives based on dominance relations, considering partial information. Specificities of the ranking problematic related to Holistic Evaluations and Sensitivity Analysis in FITradeoff are also discussed in detail. The whole process of FITradeoff for ranking is then summarized, considering an overall view of the decision process in FITradeoff DSS.
