Chapter Chapter 9 in Intertemporal and Strategic Modelling in Economics, 2022, pp 211-237 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter explores a few additional dynamic and strategic problems in economics. These include: a demand-supply framework where dynamics emerge from the consideration of adaptive expectations; a growth model involving misallocation of talent; a framework that explores the conflict underlying the allocation of research resources to basic science and to applied technology; a setup designed to address socially responsible investment; and a model that approaches the decision-making process of the individual agent and the mental effort required to make choices. The chapter ends with two additional notes. The first remark is about chaos; the second concerns an evolutionary game characterized by non-transitivity.
