A chapter in Digital Transformation in Industry, 2023, pp 381-388 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Artificial intelligence (AI) ensures alternative solutions to global issues, ranging from food security to economic development and the development of health services. AI transformation is impacting all sectors and all products. These innovative technologies are a culmination point in this fourth industrial revolution. This paper deals with AI transformation in the industry. The starting point is the transition from digital to AI transformation in the industry. Major challenges are imposed by AI transformation in the industry related to regulation and technological sovereignty. As concluded in this paper, optimal actions are needed since AI transformation in the industry is strengthening the gap between the Global North and the Global South. Rethinking legal standards is an obligation rather than a choice, considering that codes are not laws and the importance of ethics in AI for the global governance of AI.
