A chapter in The Future of Industry, 2024, pp 575-589 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The pursuit of technological independence in the modern information society where digital technologies are becoming increasingly important is becoming critical for developing countries. The study is devoted to assessing the impact of digitalisation on the technological development of the Russian industry towards achieving technological independence. The article provides the indicators for assessing the impact of digitalisation on the technological development of industry, namely, production-related, socio-economic, environmental and technological indicators. A theoretical model for the technological development of industry is presented, which may include blocks comprising innovations and investments, digitalisation, education and human resources, environmental sustainability and state support. The paper explores the role of industrial digitalisation in the context of the formation of technological independence. The results of the article can serve as a basis for the development of strategies aimed at supporting industrial digitalisation and strengthening technological independence.
