Abstract: Abstract Cloud computing represents one of the most promising paradigms for software development nowadays. Many companies consider moving entire applications or parts of them to the cloud. As customers transition their applications and data to the cloud, it is important that the level of service provided in the cloud environment be equal to or better than the service provided by their traditional IT environment. The transition to cloud computing, however, still implies difficult and cumbersome efforts. Recently a lot of initiatives, defining approach to support the migration of application to the cloud, have emerged. In this paper we propose an overview of these approaches taking into account advantages and disadvantages of adopting them.
