Abstract: Abstract In this paper, a Bayesian approach has been used to estimate the system parameters of the queuing system M/M(a, b)/1, when the system is in steady state. Data has been collected after each service completion. Two different joint prior distributions have been suggested. A method based on MCMC algorithm has been used to generate sample from posterior distributions. Further, 95% credible region in the restricted parameter space has been derived using genetic algorithm.
