Abstract:
Abstract The analysis of China's housing system leads to the conclusion that there are three significant issues with affordable rental housing. First, it is important to improve access standards and rent pricing, followed by the lack of demand-side subsidies, the imperfection of the legal and regulatory framework governing housing security, and the absence of specialized management organizations. This paper makes recommendations for the future development of affordable rental housing in China from the perspectives of rent subsidies, specialized institutions, and the legal supervision system by summarizing the experience of affordable housing policies and systems in Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, and other developed countries.
