Abstract:
Abstract Actively fulfilling corporate social responsibility (CSR) will significantly impact the sustainable development of construction companies. Economic globalization has prompted Chinese construction companies to target overseas markets and increase their turnover. The process of internationalization may influence the CSR of Chinese construction companies. This study aims to analyze the effects of internationalization on the CSR of listed construction companies in China. This study tests the hypothesis empirically by multiple regression analysis with the sample of A-share listed construction companies from 2010 to 2020. The results of this study demonstrate that the degree of internationalization (DOI) has a negative impact on CSR. The findings provide suggestions to Chinese construction companies for implementing CSR activities, especially in the context of globalization. Chinese construction companies should pay more attention to CSR activities to promote the sustainable development of the construction industry.
