Abstract:
Abstract Reliable order promising is a key competitive factor for MTO companies. Several measures to maintain reliability in an uncertain production system are proposed in literature, but so far a multidimensional anticipation of customer response to modified order specifications has not been adequately taken into account. The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate the potential of this measure by modeling and numerically analyzing the impacts on reliability and profit.
