Chapter Chapter 77 in Operations Management for Social Good, 2020, pp 779-787 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This study intends to show the interactions between lean manufacturing (LM) and Industry 4.0 (I4.0). We used multiple case studies of Brazilian and German companies. German companies use I4.0 to improve the benefits of LM further. However, Brazilian companies need to consolidate LM before considering the investment in I4.0.
