Abstract: Abstract This study reports two thematic areas that have been very relevant, in the last years, to Oporto as a tourism destination, focusing on attraction and competitiveness: sports and tourism. In this context, this research aims to understand the relevance of sports tourism, in Oporto as a tourism destination, using the analysis of two infrastructures, relevant to the city, which are still poorly explored, the Dragão Stadium and the FC Porto Museum. This study intends to be an important contribution to the scientific literature in the field of sports tourism, namely in the relationship between the Porto Football Club and Oporto as a tourism destination, regarding the definition of future strategies for collaboration and strengthening partnerships in a competitive perspective for both. Visioning the research objectives, a quantitative methodology was employed through the application of a questionnaire to 400 tourists/visitors in the city of Oporto. The data gathered confirm that the main reasons for the trip influence the visit to the Dragão stadium and the FC Porto Museum, and the assistance to a football game at the Dragão stadium influences the visit to the Dragão Stadium and the FC Porto Museum.
