Abstract:
Abstract In recent years, the European Union has made considerable efforts to support the efforts of a smooth transition to the circular economy. Although there is a wide range of composite indicators in the literature, only one study presented an aggregate composite indicator to measure the performance of circular economy indicators for EU countries. Therefore, this paper aims to present its own methodology, based on the analysis of the evolution over time of the circular economy indicators for EU27 countries. Thus, the paper wants to provide another means of assessing the performance of circular economy indicators at the level of EU27 countries and in this sense to outline a series of proposals for public policy makers.
