Chapter Chapter 47 in Advances in Empirical Economic Research, 2023, pp 763-781 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Entrepreneurs have been considered as one of the essential factors for achieving certain economic policy objectives, such as employment or economic growth. This means that stimulating entrepreneurial activity has become one of the main objectives of developed countries. In addition, the economic literature has been gathering different social and economic factors that can promote better conditions for entrepreneurs to develop their activities. The aim of this chapter is to analyze how different socioeconomic factors can favor entrepreneurship and, indirectly, economic growth. To this end, the economic literature is reviewed and complemented by an exploratory analysis with the VOSviewer software. On the other hand, an estimation is carried out by means of the partial least squares (PLS) method using structural equation modeling (SEM). In this way, the empirical analysis is applied to 30 developed OECD countries.
