A chapter in Global Economic Challenges, 2023, pp 187-194 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The aim of the work empirically investigates financial performance determinants. We use the ordinary least squares method to run a regression of bank profitability on bank-specific and macroeconomic variables using panel data. We collected data from World Bank Databases and Orbis Bank Focus for the period of 2005–2017 in MENA regions. The findings show that bank-specific variables explain profitability substantially more than macroeconomic variables.
