A chapter in Finance, Economics, and Industry for Sustainable Development, 2024, pp 141-148 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The authors of the paper studied different international agreements concerning the transportation by Eurasian railway. It makes it possible to state that those documents are the source of the industry principles of law. The analysis of the development process of the legal regulations and the materials on the international economic cooperation presented by the authors allow to make recommendations and predict the way forward for rail freight transportation that are important for the development of trade relations between Central Asia, Europe, Africa, and China. In the paper, the authors mentioned the importance of endowing the railway consignment note with a function of a transportation document. The authors explored the key international treaties of the Russian Federation that regulate the international rail freight (passengers and baggage) transportation, and which are the part of international transport law, and proposed the steps for its further development in modern geopolitical reality. The objective of this research is to introduce and analyze the international agreements (signed by the Russian Federation) that are significant for the regulation of the rail transportation of cargo. Another goal of the research is to identify the possible ways of development considering the current geopolitical situation.
