Abstract: Abstract In this study, we conduct a comprehensive bibliometric analysis to explore the relationships between corporate governance, environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors and firm performance within the context of family firms. We analyzed 451 peer-reviewed articles from 1980 to 2023, extracted from the Scopus database, using VOSviewer software. This enabled an in-depth analysis of co-citation, co-occurrence networks, and bibliographic coupling across geographic and publication sources. Our results identified eight pivotal clusters, including family ownership, entrepreneurial orientation, and corporate governance, underscoring the critical role of family involvement in the management of firm performance. This analysis charts the prevailing scholarly landscape and identifies significant trends and gaps in current research. Our findings provide new insights into the mechanisms through which family governance and ESG aspects influence firm sustainability and performance, offering valuable implications for academics, practitioners, and policymakers focusing on the sustainable development of family firms.
