Abstract:
Abstract In the tourism industry, effectively communicating regional attractions to increase visitor numbers is a crucial challenge. However, a gap often exists between the information disseminated by tourism operators and the attractions perceived by visitors. In order to bridge this gap, this research developed and validated a tool to promote insights that trigger the discovery of potential value in tourism resources. The tool integrates functions that support multidimensional perspectives, contextualization of information, pattern identification, and generation of new combinations. User testing revealed six distinct Insight Patterns, demonstrating the tool's contribution to understanding the overall picture of tourist destinations and discovering new tourism resources. Multiple instances were observed where users gained unexpected insights or generated new tourism experience ideas through the visualization of relationships between topics.
