A chapter in Digital Management and Artificial Intelligence, 2025, pp 147-155 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The rapid development and implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) has a significant impact on various sectors, including economic policy and defense systems. Changes in the technological environment pose major challenges for the labor market and national security. The use of AI systems can be positive in terms of increasing productivity, automation, and implementing innovative processes in both civilian and military domains, as they are much faster and more accurate in performing certain tasks. However, AI also threatens traditional jobs, as it may replace human labor in many fields, such as computer programming, accounting, research, and even certain military roles. Such a large-scale transformation of the labor market and defense strategies requires retraining human resources and developing new skills and abilities, so that the workforce and military personnel can adapt to the new technological environment. Governing bodies must review labor legislation, strengthen social protection programs for those who lose their jobs due to automation, and adapt defense policies to incorporate AI responsibly. It is essential to develop an ethical and regulatory framework for AI technologies to ensure their responsible use in both civilian and military applications, and avoid potential risks such as violations of privacy, discrimination, and the uncontrolled spread of errors. The impact of AI will radically change the labor market and defense strategies, and this requires serious prior preparation from governments, companies, and individuals. In the long term, artificial intelligence may completely transform the concept of labor, national security, and the fundamental structure of society. That is why it is important to manage and follow this process to ensure the beneficial and ethical use of AI for human well-being and national security. As seen in countries like Georgia, the integration of AI in defense systems while managing corruption risks presents unique challenges and opportunities, highlighting the need for a comprehensive approach to technological modernization and institutional transparency.
