A chapter in Health Technologies and Demographic Challenges, 2025, pp 257-270 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Industry 4.0 has emerged as a revolutionary paradigm in the industrial field by integrating advanced technologies to radically and progressively transform production processes. In this sense, this article systematically reviews the existing literature on Industry 4.0, intending to explore the various methodologies used in such research, seeking to identify patterns and trends that contribute to improving the quality of research in this field. The review encompasses 200 articles between 2018 and 2024. The results indicate that most researchers choose to conduct surveys and bibliometric studies, emphasizing qualitative analysis. In addition, a greater development of Industry 4.0 is observed in countries such as Italy, China, the USA, and India compared to Latin American countries. This analysis offers valuable insight into the prevailing methodologies, thus providing a solid basis for future research and industrial development strategies.
