A chapter in Health Technologies and Demographic Challenges, 2025, pp 69-80 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The document presents a literature review on the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in the hospital sector, with the aim of identifying research trends and evaluating the impact of these technologies on healthcare. The documents were classified into three main groups: improvement of clinical diagnoses, optimization of management and administrative tasks, and applications of AI in medical equipment. The findings indicate that AI is significantly improving diagnostic accuracy in areas such as cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, enabling earlier and more effective care. In addition, the ability of AI to optimize hospital management, facilitating the allocation of resources and improving operational efficiency, is highlighted. However, the implementation of these technologies faces challenges, including resistance to change by healthcare professionals and concerns about data privacy. The paper concludes that while AI has the potential to transform healthcare, it is crucial to address the ethical and practical challenges associated with its adoption. The importance of human-technology collaboration to maximize the benefits of AI in the hospital environment is emphasized, ensuring that all patients benefit from technological advances.
