Abstract:
Abstract This study investigates the relationship between climate change and loan pricing by conducting a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of 482 peer-reviewed articles from the Scopus database (1991–2025). Beyond identifying leading journals, institutions, and countries, the research uncovers three major thematic areas shaping the field: climate-related risk assessment in financial markets, the integration of sustainability and ESG criteria in lending decisions, and the influence of environmental policy on credit pricing. While there has been a significant increase in publications over the past decade, particularly since 2019, the literature remains fragmented. Few studies offer region-specific insights or combine financial modelling with emerging technologies, such as AI or big data. This study addresses these gaps by mapping the intellectual structure of the field and highlighting future research opportunities, particularly in linking climate risks with credit evaluation, regulatory frameworks, and localized financial impacts. The findings offer valuable guidance for academics, financial professionals, and policymakers aiming to align credit risk management and lending practices with climate resilience and sustainability goals.
